Jammu and Kashmir: As per news agency PTI, the Pakistani drone was detected in the Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir, close to the LoC, on January 11. Following the intrusion, the Indian Army responded promptly and countered the aerial threat. The incident comes nearly a month after India conducted Operation Sindoor.

Officials said multiple drone intrusion attempts were reported along the India-Pakistan LoC, prompting security forces to remain on high alert. Following the detection of suspicious drone activity, ground search operations were initiated in the area.

According to media reports quoting officials, Army troops deployed in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri district opened fire using medium and light machine guns at around 6:35 pm during the drone sighting.

In another incident, officials reported that a second drone was spotted near Khabbar village in Teryath area of Rajouri district at around 6:35 pm. The flying object, equipped with blinking lights, reportedly entered from the direction of Dharmsal village in Kalakote and moved towards Bharakh.

Security agencies continue to monitor the situation closely, and search operations are ongoing to identify and neutralize any potential threats on the ground.
