BMC Elections 2026: Raj Thackeray

On Sunday evening, Uddhav Thackeray [Shiv Sena (UBT)] and his cousin Raj Thackeray [Maharashtra Navnirman Sena] held a joint rally at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park in Dadar. The rally took place in anticipation of the upcoming BMC Elections 2026, also known as civic polls, in Mumbai. After over 20 years, the cousins shared the stage together and have stood up for elections. During their speech, the Thackeray cousins highlighted several topics, including the “danger” to Mumbai and its Marathi manoos.

At the rally, both Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray launched an attack at the BJP government and said how they have come together to save the city. The cousins said how BJP allegedly wants to connect Mumbai to Gujarat and how they were handing over the state and city’s assets to Gautam Adani, a Gujarati businessman. Raj also called out the Modi government for allegedly favouring Adani and said, “They can’t sell land to Adani if the BMC is with us.”

In his speech further, Raj even warned the Marathi people that if they make a mistake during this election, the battle for Mumbai will be lost forever. “This is the last election for the Marathi manoos. If he makes a mistake now, the battle for Mumbai will be lost forever,” said the MNS chief.

With regard to seat sharing with Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, Raj Thackeray stated that they have resolved it. However, the duo refused to share the details at the rally. “We are united for saving Mumbai and Maharashtra,” asserted Raj.

Meanwhile, the BMC elections will be held on January 15, 2026. The counting will be held on January 16, 2026.
