A Noida homeowner posted on social media that he had just received an offer of Rs. 42 lakh for a 1BHK flat that he had purchased five years ago for Rs. 26 lakh. This represents a staggering 61 percent return on investment. Vivek, the owner, emphasized that he purchased the property in 2021 solely for investment purposes, without any emotional attachment, since he had no intention of ever living here.

“I purchased a 1 BHK flat in Noida for Rs. 26 lakhs in 2021. Since I was never going to live there, it was purely an investment (no emotional baggage),” Vivek wrote in the post. He claimed that he had the flat furnished and given the keys to an agent to rent it out following the purchase.

“Thanks to Sector 52 being near the Delhi and Noida metros, the flat was never vacant for even a week in the last five years,” he said further. Vivek said he had grown emotionally connected to the house and did not want to sell it, even if the agent made a good offer, despite having only visited it twice in the previous five years.

“The agent called 2 days back saying someone is offering 42 lakhs to buy it. I am not going to sell it because I don’t need the money now and somehow I became emotionally attached to it too!” he said further. According to the homeowner, real estate will continue to be quite profitable in 2026 and overtime, people will naturally develop an emotional connection to their property and investments.
