Mumbai’s connectivity is gaining speed. Now, two major airports are set to connect. This could be an even much shorter journey than before, making it more convenient.
The alignment of Metro Line 8, which will connect Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) and the future Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) directly via metro, has been approved by the Maharashtra state government. CIDCO created the metro line, which is intended to connect several Navi Mumbai suburbs and provide Mumbai with a smooth intra city metro system. The thorough project report states that 11 stations would be located inside the boundaries of Navi Mumbai.
The project is currently scheduled to be carried out through a public-private partnership model, even though it was initially planned as a partnership between CIDCO and MMRDA. In a significant development, the state government has chosen to incorporate the forthcoming Metro Line 8 project into the 337 kilometer regional metro master plan of the MMRDA.
CIDCO will be responsible. CIDCO will have full responsibility for overseeing, paying for and carrying out the project, according to the reports.

The metro will travel along the Sion-Panvel Highway after crossing the Vashi Creek bridge from Mankhurd, then it will turn inward via Nerul, Seawoods and Ulwe to get to NMIA.
The suggested city stations are Vashi, Sanpada, Juinagar, Nerul Sector-1, Nerul, Seawoods, Belapur, Sagar Sangam, Targhar/Moha, NMIA West and NMIA Terminal 2, with the last two facilities being on the airport grounds.
The cost planning and comprehensive project report for Metro Line 8 have been finished, according to CIDCO officials, and the proposal was submitted to the state government for cabinet approval.
