The films collectively grossed over 5.2 billion dollars worldwide, and this time, Avatar: Fire And Ash, scheduled for release on December 19, 2025, is set to follow in its footsteps. On December 8, 2025, the nominations for the Golden Globe Awards 2026 were announced. Founded in 2023, the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement Golden Globe award recognizes the most viewed, highest-earning, and most discussed films of the year. Avatar: Fire and Ash is still over a week away from its domestic and global premiere, yet it has already received significant award nominations. However, the third installment of the sci-fi epic didn’t break any rules. 

According to the Golden Globes’ rules, movies released after November 22 can be qualified for the box office achievement award based on their predicted box office performance and/or streaming views from recognised industry sources. Having said that, Avatar’s next blockbuster Fire And Ash is expected to collect over 100 million dollars at the domestic box office. Moreover, the fantasy film is projected to be among the top grossers worldwide. 

It is indeed a prestigious honor for the film to be recognized before hitting the silver screen. The winners of the 83rd Golden Globe Awards will be unveiled on January 11, 2026, at the Beverly Hilton.
