Mumbai city and other regions got relief from heavy rainfall but light to moderate rain is expected in coming days. Citizens are facing heat and humidity and light showers. On Tuesday, the city experienced light rain and quite a rise in temperatures.
On Tuesday morning, active monsoon conditions persisted in Mumbai, accompanied by gusty winds and mild showers. The IMD issued no rain alert for the week but predicted that the sky would be typically overcast and there would be periodic rain. With winds up to 60 kmph, there may be moderate to heavy showers in isolated spots, according to reports.
The anticipated temperatures are between 29 and 31 degrees Celsius. Moderate rain and gloomy skies have been present in Mumbai and its surrounding areas for the previous few days. Mumbai, Thane and Raigad will continue to experience light rains and cloudy skies until August 21, according to the IMD.
According to the IMD district projection released on August 17, light to moderate rainfall is expected throughout Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Nashik until August 21. On August 19 and 20, Mumbai is expected to get light rain. During August 18-23, there is a change from isolated to dispersed rainfall across Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.
Due to the continuing monsoon, Mumbai’s air quality has also remained in the healthy range. The city’s whole AQI was registered at 23 on Tuesday morning, putting it in the ‘Good’ category, according to official figures.
