IMD Issues Yellow Alert for Mumbai and Thane for Heat and Humidity, Thundershowers Expected

Mumbai, Thane and surrounding regions might experience thundershowers, as per the reports. The IMD has issued a yellow alert on heat, humidity and thundershowers from April 23 to 24.

According to the IMD, Thane, Mumbai, Ratnagiri and Raigad will probably experience hot and humid conditions, with the possibility of light rain or thundershowers in the afternoon or evening on April 23.

The weather agency predicted that Mumbai and Thane will continue to have similar weather the next day, while Raigad and Ratnagiri will experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, moderate rainfall and gusty winds (40-50kmph) at isolated places.

In the next 48 hours, Mumbai, Thane and a number of other coastal and adjacent areas in Maharashtra are expected to continue experiencing hot and humid weather along with thundershowers. The agency’s bulletin issued a yellow alert and warned that these regions could see moderate rain showers through April 24 to thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds (30-40kmph) at isolated places.
