A man has shared the high price of a flat in Gurgoan, where he is a tenant. Just prior to relocating, he had to pay Rs. 3,52,000 for the rent. He has provided a thorough explanation of all his costs, which has stunned the online community. A discussion over increasing rent, housing prices and living costs has also been sparked by this. The hidden costs are jaw dropping.

In his quest for a 2BHK apartment in Gurgaon’s Sector 60 to 66 area, the user shared that he had lately given up his employment and kept a close eye on every rupee he spent. He eventually pays Rs. 90,000 a month for the flat. The brokerage charge, which amounted to Rs. 45,000 (equivalent to 15 days of rent) was the most significant cost during the search, as stated in the post. After allegedly being rejected for being single, he also forfeited Rs. 10,000 in token money.

He says that such costs are important to notice, but only care for them. Many ignore this. Additionally, he used Uber for transportation during his trip to 14 different apartments (for the rental house search), costing him Rs. 4,200. He predicted losing about Rs. 20,000 because he missed three workdays while looking for a home.

I tracked every rupee I spent finding ONE flat in Gurgaon (₹3,52,000). It’s not just the brokerage fee and it’s insane.

Food costs in the vicinity of the property totaled another Rs. 3,100, while phone calls and mobile data cost about Rs. 400. He had literally breakdown every single cost he spent on searching for the flat to actually pay for the rent.

The user claimed that the upfront expense of merely locating a flat was over Rs. 82,000. The total amount paid prior to the move came to Rs. 3.52 lakh when combined with the first month’s rent of Rs. 90,000 and the security deposit of Rs. 1.8 lakh. Many are reacting to his post and sharing their own experiences.
