Former IATA Chief Willie Walsh Takes Charge as IndiGo CEO to Lead Global Expansion

IndiGo has appointed its new CEO. Former IATA chief Willie Walsh takes charge as the new CEO of IndiGo, according to an announcement by the Airline on Monday. Walsh, who has over four decades of global aviation leadership experience, will collaborate closely with IndiGo’s board and management team, according to the release.

According to the release, IndiGo has announced his appointment as its new CEO in March 2026. Walsh will be in charge of IndiGo’s general management and strategic direction, according to the announcement, with an emphasis on speeding its global growth, improving operational excellence, bolstering its network and commercial strategy and further enhancing client experience.
