Delhi Rains: Flights Diverted From Airport Amid Heavy Rain, IMD Issues Alert
The Delhi-NCR region is facing heavy traffic and waterlogging due to extreme heavy rains and thunderstorms. Now, the IMD have also issued an alert and many flights have been diverted due to the rains.
According to morning events, around 15 flights have been diverted. Three international flights were among the 15 flights that were rerouted from Delhi airport because of the bad weather. 12 of them were redirected to Jaipur, two to Chandigarh and one to Lucknow.

There were accounts of severe downpours in areas of South Delhi and the surrounding areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD), issued a red alert for heavy rain and a yellow alert for moderate rain throughout a number of districts. Additionally, thunderstorms, lightning and winds of 30-40 kmph were predicted in certain parts of the city.

The IMD stated in its advisory that isolated areas of South East Delhi, East Delhi, Shahdara, Central Delhi, North East Delhi, South Delhi, New Delhi, South West Delhi, West Delhi, North West Delhi, and North Delhi are likely to experience heavy rain along with thunderstorms, lightning and winds of 30-40 kmph.
