Due to cyclone Senyar, many states will witness torrential rains as a result of the abrupt shift in climate. The storm is now stronger and will make landfall within the next few hours. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported on Wednesday that the weather system over the Strait of Malacca, which developed into a significant depression on Tuesday night, has now turned into a cyclonic storm named Senyar.
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands have already been issued a severe rain warning of 105–204 mm in 24 hours by the meteorological department.

Cyclone Senyar was over the Strait of Malacca and nearby areas of northeast Indonesia at 5:30 am on Wednesday. It was located about 100 kilometers east of Kuta Makmur in Indonesia, 260 kilometers west-southwest of George Town in Malaysia, 600 kilometers east-southeast of Nancowry in the Nicobar Islands and 740 kilometers southeast of Car Nicobar. The IMD reported in an update at 9:13 am that the system had shifted westward at a speed of about 10 km/h over the previous six hours.

When To Make Landfall?
Authorities have, in the interim, advised citizens living along India’s east coast to remain vigilant and adhere to government warnings. According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is expected in these areas.
The IMD also warned about a different weather system, a clearly defined low-pressure zone over the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas of the equatorial Indian Ocean and southeast Sri Lanka.
