BMC Elections 2026 Shock: Amit Thackeray Slams Eknath Shinde for ‘Hotel Politics’, Says Corporators Are Missing

The BMC Elections 2026 results are out, but the drama has just begun. The race for Mumbai’s next mayor has caught everyone’s attention. Recently, reports stated how Deputy CM Eknath Shinde housed his corporators inside a hotel room in Mumbai. It led to conversations about Shinde, who is apparently trying to prevent defections. Now, Amit Thackeray, the son of MNS chief Raj Thackeray, has poked fun at Shinde.

On X, Amit Thackeray shared an animated picture in which corporators are chilling inside the hotel room while common people are waiting for an update. He captioned it in Marathi, which reads when translated in English, “Are the corporators ‘missing’?”

Amit further criticised Eknath Shinde by writing, “Once the results were declared, the elected representatives should have gone back to their wards, thanked the people, and started working on public issues. Unfortunately, those elected by the citizens are currently celebrating behind the closed doors of five-star hotels.”

Meanwhile, earlier, Yuva Sena General Secretary Amey Ghole clarified why the Shiv Sena (Shinde) corporators were taken to a hotel. Amey said that it was done to make sure corporators begin their work soon and live up to the expectations the people of Mumbai placed on them.
