BMC Elections 2026: PM Narendra Modi Thanks Maharashtra; CM Devendra Fadnavis Says Mumbai Will Get Mahayuti Mayor

The BMC Elections 2026 have captured everyone’s attention as the counting shows the BJP significantly ahead. On Friday, PM Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis made major statements. PM Modi took to X to thank the people of Maharashtra for trusting the NDA’s agenda.

PM Narendra Modi wrote, “Thank you Maharashtra! The dynamic people of the state bless the NDA’s agenda of pro-people good governance! The results of various municipal corporation elections indicate that NDA’s bond with the people of Maharashtra has further deepened. Our track record and vision for development have struck a chord. My gratitude to the people across Maharashtra. This is a vote to add momentum to progress and celebrate the glorious culture the state is associated with.”

Modi added, “I am very proud of every NDA Karyakarta who worked tirelessly among people across Maharashtra. They talked about our alliance’s track record, highlighted our vision for the coming times and also effectively countered the lies of the Opposition. My best wishes to them.”

CM Devendra Fadnavis’ reaction

On the other hand, Fadnavis was visibly pleased with how the numbers favoured the BJP in the BMC Elections 2026. He addressed party workers at the BJP office in Mumbai and spoke about the majority the party secured and the future of the city.

CM Devendra Fadnavis said that the party contested these elections under the development vision of PM Narendra Modi. Fadnavis credited Modi’s leadership for the record-breaking mandate received in the BMC Elections 2026. The CM said, “These results have clarified that Maharashtra relies on PM Modi’s development agenda.”

In the same briefing, CM Devendra Fadnavis said Mumbai will get a Mahayuti mayor. He added, “Our agenda will always be development, and we will use our victory to transform the lives of people. Hindutva has always been our soul, and one cannot differentiate our Hindutva from development. Our Hindutva is inclusive.”
