Starring Kunal Kemmu in the lead role, “Vibe” has hit the theatrical screens today. The film has opened to mixed reactions from early viewers. Many have praised the actors’ performances, while some felt the second half of the comedy drama dragged. Moreover, the first wave of social media reviews has split over whether Kunal Kemmu’s directorial is best watched in theatres or on OTT.

After Madgaon Express, “Vibe” is Kunal Kemmu’s second venture as a director and writer. Just a few days ago, the film board gave it an adult-only certificate with no cuts. Now that the film has hit the theatrical screens, all eyes are on the X reviews and box office opening collection.

Besides Kunal Kemmu, “Vibe” features Preity Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava, and debutant Vanshika Dhir. Preity essays the role of Madam H, who recruits the unlikely duo for a mission linked to a threat against the country.

Fans and moviegoers who watched the film on the first day took to X to share their two cents about the film. Talking about Kunal Kemmu’s screen presence and performance, an X user wrote, “Kunal Khemu is in top form in #Vibe All the gags don’t land but the man’s commitment to the absurdity is so much fun to watch!” Another one added, “Whole movie at one side and Kunal Khemu on the other, What a performance.”

In addition to Kemmu, the audience has also praised Preity Zinta’s performance for bringing authority to her character. However, not every viewer felt she was the right fit for Madam H. On the other hand, an X user rated the film 3 out of 5 stars, calling it a breezy entertainer. A few praised the perfect blend of comedy, action, and romance, highlighting Kemmu’s comic timing and expressions.

Despite keeping viewers engaged in the first half, “Vibe” loses its steam in the second half of the film. For the unversed, the film has locked horns with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj’s “Daayra” at the box office.
