Veteran Actor, Dance Like a Man, and Devdas Fame Vijay Crishna Passes Away at 81
On March 4, veteran actor and theatre personality Vijay Crishna passed away at 81. Renowned for his roles in Dance Like a Man and Devdas, Crishna will be remembered for his commanding screen presence and decades-long contribution to theatre. Actress Lillete Dubey confirmed the sad news on Wednesday. She expressed her grief on social media, remembering Vijay Crishna as a cherished member of the theatre family and a part of Dance Like a Man for over 25 years. Many remember him for playing Shah Rukh Khan’s father in 2002’s Devdas, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Vijay Crishna Breathe His Last at 81
Actress Lillete Dubey, who shared a long professional association with him, paid a heartfelt tribute on social media. She wrote, “Remembering him fondly was actress Lillete Dubey who wrote- “Heartbroken.. our dearest Vijay Crishna .. part of our theatre family & ‘Dance like a Man’ for over 25 years .. has passed away.. a man of many parts .. a brilliant actor, handsome, charming, bright with his dry tongue in cheek trademark humour, he was much loved & cherished by us all .. so many memories flood the heart & mind & overwhelm me ..” The cause of his death is yet to be revealed.
Crishna’s personal life was equally noteworthy. His wife, Smita Crishna-Godrej, belongs to the prominent Godrej family. The actor shared screen space with Aishwarya Rai, Madhuri Dixit, Jackie Shroff, and Kirron Kher, leaving a lasting impact with his nuanced performances.
