The Vvaan Review on X: Sidharth Malhotra, Tamannaah Bhatia’s Folklore Drama Receives Mixed Responses

Starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead roles, “The Vvaan:Force of the Forrest” has finally hit the theatres today. Fans and cinephiles who watched the film on the first day, first show immediately took to their social media handles to share their two cents about the film. Surprisingly, the film has opened to mixed reactions, with a few praising the folklore drama’s cultural connect and some disliking its flat narrative.

Helemed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, the film stars Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead, along with Sunil Grover, Anup Soni, Shweta Tiwari and Maniesh Paul. Set against a forest backdrop and supernatural premise, the film has managed to captivate the audience through teaser and trailers, however, on the first day, it received a lukewarm response from early viewers.

Many of them praised Sidharth Malhotra’s commanding screen presence but sharply criticised the film’s narrative. The refreshing supernatural thriller was also appreciated with its mysterious setting and the combination of legends, rituals and supernatural elements. An X user wrote, “A wildly imaginative big-screen adventure where rooted folklore meets fantasy, faith and supernatural mystery, powered by a terrific Sidharth Malhotra and a world that feels unlike anything mainstream Hindi cinema has attempted in recent times. The story is the hero, with Bihar, Chhath, Van Devi and Bhutakkas creating a gripping folklore world packed with mystery and surprises.”

On the other, a few audience were left unimpressed. Rating the film just one out of five stars, a user took to X and wrote, “One of the worst films of 2026. – TVF, stick to Panchayat. Films aren’t your thing. – If you can’t handle the whole devotion angle, don’t force it. – Sid bhai, forget films now. Start family vlogs with Kiara, you’ll get good reach at least.”

Another one added, “First Half: Film sticks to its core subject throughout, some meta humour are on point and Swades reference was good, till now tight screenplay and First half ends with a new mystery #TheVvaan.” It is now interesting to see how the film performs at the box office and also after the weekend unfolds.
