The Paradise Review on X: Nani, Raghav Juyal’s Telugu Period Actioner Receives Sharp Criticism

Starring Natural Star Nani, “The Paradise” has finally hit the theatres today. Helmed by Srikanth Odela, the much-awaited period action drama has opened to strong criticism from early viewers. However, many praised Nani’s performance, while they called the film’s action, visuals, screenplay, and second-half narration a complete washout. 

The actioner recorded one of the biggest advance sales of Nani’s career and surpassed Rs 40 crore in worldwide pre-sales, drawing large crowds. However, the film didn’t live up to expectations. After watching the film on the first day, first show, they took to their social media timelines to share their two cents.

Rating the film 2 out of 5 stars, an X user wrote, “The paradise. Average 1st half. Below average. 2nd half. Talking about writing, a user wrote, “A roast material from start to end barring a promising start. Writing ragebait scenes involving violence against women isnt how you bring emotions Love-dela. Plastic film about plastic characters with some hilarious moments in between. Outrightly bad.” Other early viewer opinioned, “Film is DISAPPOINTING to the core. @NameisNani please choose good scripts like Jersey. You’re wasting your own potential.” Other wrote, “Except for the first 15 min, the entire half was absolutely trash. Then the next half came in, and we felt Liger was such a good movie. #Nani, you’re not meant for larger movies. You’re suited for light-hearted, emotional films like Hi Nanna.”

Set against the 1980s Secunderabad, the film tells the saga of a community as they fight discrimination and struggle for citizenship. Natural Star Nani essays the role of Jadal, the leader of the marginalised Savari community, while Mohan Babu, Raghav Juyal, Kayadu Lohar, and Sonali Kulkarni appear in pivotal roles.
