On May 4, 2026, the makers dropped a fresh trailer, leaving fans and movie buffs intrigued. As one of the most hyped films of the year, the trailer looks promising. For the unversed, the film is based on the epic Greek tragic duology by Homer. The Odyssey kicks off right after the events of The Iliad. The Odyssey Trailer Unveiled: What to Expect?

Universal Pictures unveiled the new trailer for The Odyssey, and fans can’t help but wait until the action-fantasy drama hits the silver screens. The trailer was unveiled on Monday night’s episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The previews feature Matt Damon as Odysseus, while other star cast, including Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Mia Goth, Benny Safdie, Jon Bernthal, and John Leguizamo can be spotted in key roles. 

The trailer shows Robert Pattinson turning evil as Matt Damon plows through to return to Anne Hathaway. In a nutshell, it showcases the troubles that lie in Odysseus’ path back home to Ithaca after the Trojan War, as he faces mythological monsters like the Cyclops, while his wife Penelope (Anne Hathaway) fights off suitors. 

Matt Damon essaying the role of Odysseus navigates a decade-long journey filled with danger. The trailer shows him battling both natural forces and supernatural threats, setting the tone for a gripping narrative. On the other hand, it shows Robert Pattinson as the villain of the movie, Antinous. Tom Holland as Odysseus’s son, Charlize Theron as Circe, and the Cyclops. The sneak peek makes it clear that Matt Damon’s Odysseus will do everything to try to save his men. 

Moreover, it reveals the story’s iconic cyclops, who seems to already be holding one of Odysseus’ soldiers in his grip. The trailer also shows more carnage from the battle of Troy, including an encounter with the Laestrygonians, a cannibalistic race of giants, showing a clip of Odysseus’ dog, Argos.
