The Devil Wears Prada 2 Surpasses $50 Million In 48 Hours, Might Hit $200 Soon

Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway’s The Devil Wears Prada 2 has opened strongly at the box office on May 1, 2026. As of May 2, the sequel collected $40.5 million worldwide and Rs 5.98 crore net in India so far. The sequel to 2016’s The Devil Wears Prada reunites Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci after a twenty-year break from their iconic roles. According to trade analyst reports from Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 3.80 crore net on its first day in India.

Given the massive pre-release nostalgia, the sequel collected a total India gross collection of Rs 7.13 crore and a total India net of Rs 5.98 crore so far. Roll your eyes over for a closer glimpse at the film’s box office numbers.

The sequel made $10 million from Thursday previews in the US, surpassing It Ends With Us, which had made $7 million in previews, and nearly matching recent releases like Project Hail Mary. For the context, The Devil Wears Prada 2 has been surpassed by major Hollywood blockbusters, which include Oppenheimer, which earned Rs 14.5 crore, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, which minted Rs 32.67 crore in Indian theatres. 

Directed by David Frankel, the sequel revisits the character of Miranda Priestly as she navigates the challenges of a changing media landscape while reuniting with Andy Sachs, only to confront a former assistant who has become a rival.
