American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, ahead of her marriage to Travis Kelce next month. At 36, the pop Star has hit a milestone by becoming the youngest woman to be inducted. At the 55th Annual Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Gala, she will be creating history and taking the mantle from the legendary Carole Bayer. Surprisingly, the happy news comes exactly 20 years after her debut single, Tim McGraw, which was released in June 2006.

The ceremony took place at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City on Thursday, June 11, 2026. Here’s what the 14-time Grammy winner has to share.

Taylor Swift Inducted into Songwriters Hall of Fame

At the Annual Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Lover singer stole the spotlight by delivering her long, heartfelt, and emotional speech. She extended heartfelt gratitude to her hero Steven Spielberg, who introduced and inducted her at the event. Moreover, she thanked her parents and fiancé Travis Kelce for their unwavering support. She stated, “He (Steven Spielberg) thinks that this is the first time he has inducted me into something, but what he may not be taking into consideration is that through his decades of spellbinding storytelling, Steven Spielberg has unknowingly inducted me and countless others into his sacred club of expansive world-building.”

At the event, the 36-year-old singer looked ravishing in a custom Givenchy gown adorned with vibrant floral embroidery and a high thigh slit. She further added, “From the time he was a kid, every time he dreamed something up, he wanted to do anything humanly possible to be able to show it to you. I watched his films and watched him ace every single genre. And that kind of limitless creativity isn’t just inspiring to burgeoning filmmakers.”

For the unversed, Swift is the second-youngest inductee after Stevie Wonder, who was 33 when he joined. Her key tracks to be recognised by the Hall of Fame include All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version), Blank Space, Anti-Hero, Love Story, and The Last Great American Dynasty. Founded in 1969, the Songwriters Hall of Fame annually honours those whose work represents a spectrum of the most beloved songs from the world’s popular music songbook.
