South Korean Actor Jung Eun-woo Passes Away at 39, Sudden Demise Shocks the Industry

Jung Eun-woo’s family announced the sudden demise of the South Korean Actor at the age of 39. What left fans and the audience wondering is the cause of his death just one day after he shared a cryptic post about Amy Winehouse. The social media post was a carousel of pictures, featuring photos of Hong Kong actor Leslie Cheung, who passed away at the age of 46 in 2003, and singer Amy Winehouse, who died in 2011 at 27. The actor captioned the carousel as “Missed, jealous, sorry.” 

With a career spanning two decades, Jung Eun-woo carved his own path in the entertainment industry. He breathed his last on February 11, 2026, leaving netizens unable to conceal their shock and disbelief at the sudden news. His funeral will reportedly take place tomorrow at 12 p.m. KST, followed by the cremation.

Jung Eun-woo’s sudden demise sparked a wave of mourning. The South Korean actor gained recognition through appearances in a couple of shows and films, including SBS drama Bride Of The Sun, Welcome to Waikiki 2, Memory: Manipulated Murder, Five Fingers, and more. Born in 1986, he bagged the New Star Award at the 2012 SBS Acting Awards and the Special Acting Award in the Single-Act Special Drama category in 2013.

Following the actor’s demise, his last social media post has taken the internet by storm, signalling his psychological and emotional condition. The mortuary of the deceased was set up in Room 2 of the funeral hall of New Korea Hospital. Balin is 12 p.m. on the 13th, and Jangji is Byeokje Seunghwawon.
