Netflix’s Made in Korea, Starring Priyanka Mohan And Park Hye-Jin, Marks Cross-cultural Cinematic Collaboration

On Tuesday, February 24, Netflix announced the release date of its upcoming Tamil film Made in Korea. Starring Priyanka Mohan and actor Park Hye-Jin, the film marks a cross-cultural cinematic collaboration. Slated to premiere on March 12, 2026, the unique narrative and compelling storytelling have stirred excitement among fans and netizens worldwide. 

Bankrolled by Rise East Entertainment and helmed by Ra.Karthik, Made in Korea, will be streaming on the OTT giant in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. Here’s what you can expect from the film.

Tamil Nadu to South Korea: Netflix’s Made in Korea is an Upcoming Tamil Film

Made in Korea chronicles the life of Shenbagam, who dreams to travel to South Korea from Tamil Nadu. Amidst her daily routine in a small town, she held on to a simple, wholehearted dream. The heart-warming film showcases Shenbagam, aka Shenba, whose childhood fascination with Korean culture inspires her to experience it firsthand. She fulfils her dream and unexpectedly finds herself in Seoul. However, the reality proves far more challenging than she imagined. 

Shenba’s path of resilience, self-discovery, and new connections is indeed worth taking cues from. Director Ra.Karthik shared that he was quite fascinated with the deep cultural connections and historical similarities between Korean and Tamil heritage. His curiosity inspired him to bring the story out to the world. He said, “Made In Korea is a slice-of-life film crafted with warmth, celebrating this unique cultural bond, and I’m thankful to Netflix for championing stories that transcend languages and bring global cultures closer together.” 

At the heart of Made in Korea is a young girl from a small village in Tamil Nadu whose fascination with Korea shapes her dreams. It is a deeply human story of aspiration, identity, and belonging. Headlined by Priyanka Mohan alongside acclaimed South Korean actor and Squid Game fame, Park Hye-Jin, the film celebrates a heartfelt cultural bridge between India and Korea.
