February 25 morning couldn’t have been better as Netflix dropped the teaser trailer of Jane Austen’s beloved classic, Pride and Prejudice. Starring Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden in lead roles, Dolly Alderton brings to you the most faithful adaptation on the OTT giant. The six-episode limited series will feature Emma Corrin in the role of Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden as Mr. Darcy. Helmed by Euros Lyn, the series will premiere in April 2026.
According to the press release, the series, penned by Everything I Know About Love author Dolly Alderton, promises to faithfully bring Jane Austen’s iconic story back to life for audiences that cherish it, whilst inspiring a new generation to fall in love with it for the first time. On Tuesday morning, Netflix unveiled the teaser trailer for Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, directed by Euros Lyn. The cinematic shots of Corrin’s Elizabeth watching the sunset atop a roof and blushing when she hears the sound of galloping, followed by a rugged Lowden as Darcy arriving on horseback. No sooner had the trailer been dropped across social media than it garnered over a million views.
Aside from the main cast, the series will also feature Olivia Colman as Mrs. Bennet, Rufus Sewell as Mr. Bennet, Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet, Jamie Demetriou as Mr. Collins, Daryl McCormack as Mr. Bingley, Louis Partridge as Mr. Wickham, Rhea Norwood as Lydia Bennet, Siena Kelly as Caroline Bingley, Fiona Shaw as Lady Catherine de Bourg, Hopey Parish as Mary Bennet and Hollie Avery as Kitty Bennet.
In the official statement, Alderton shared that Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’ is the blueprint for romantic comedy. It has been a joy to delve back into its pages to find both familiar and fresh ways of bringing this beloved book to life. He further added, “With Euros Lyn directing our stellar cast, I am so excited to reintroduce these hilarious and complicated characters to those who count Pride and Prejudice as their favorite book, and those who are yet to meet their Lizzie and Mr. Darcy.” The 54-second teaser has undoubtedly captivated a global audience, piquing their interest and stirring their excitement.
