Main Wapas Aaunga Teaser OUT: Imtiaz Ali, Diljit Dosanjh Reunite for the Partition-Era Love Story

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali returns with yet another magical love story after the mega success of Jab We Met. Starring Diljit Dosanjh, Sharvari, Vedang Raina, and Naseeruddin Shah in key roles, the makers of Main Wapas Aaunga unveiled the teaser of the love saga on March 13. Bankrolled by Sameer Nair and Deepak Segal, the romantic drama revolves around the themes of love and longing. The narrative is largely told through the perspective of Diljit Dosanjh’s character while he attempts to help his grandfather resolve an emotional chapter from the past. 

Slated to release in cinemas on 12th June 2026, the partition-era love story has piqued audiences’ interest. The preview has garnered the attention of all with its emotional tone and visual storytelling.

Main Wapas Aaunga revolves around a dream sequence, taking the elderly’s world of dreams in a montage set in 1947. It’s the year India was liberated from two centuries of colonialism and finally united as a republic. Defined as one of the most heartbreaking humanitarian crises, the year India and Pakistan partitioned brings back painful memories for some and happy memories for the rest. 

The teaser promises to be another feel-good movie. Set to Diljit’s evocative vocals, the teaser offers a glimpse into a story that feels both intimate and expansive, a story of a boy and a girl, but also of a country. Moreover, the partition-era saga is described as a witty yet deeply moving exploration of human connection that promises a truly heart-warming theater experience. 

On June 12, 2026, the film will be clashing with Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, and Jaaved Jaaferi’s Dhamaal 4 and Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde’s Hai Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hai at the box office.
