Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar’s latest psychological thriller was released in cinemas on Sept 11, 2026. The film opened to mixed reviews, with many praising the lead actors’ commanding screen presence and a few criticising the film’s dragged-out storyline. After the film’s theatrical run, it is expected to arrive on Sony LIV.

Helmed by Priyadarshan, the film is the remake of the 2016 Malayalam hit, “Oppam.” On the first day, “Haiwaan” raked in Rs 3 crore. However, it struggled at the box office due to the dominance of Pankaj Tripathi’s “Mirzapur: The Movie” and “Hanuman Ansh.” Take a look at the film’s trailer!

Haiwaan OTT Release: When to Expect?

The crime thriller generated early discussion among moviegoers surrounding the film’s digital debut. Usually, a theatrical movie’s OTT arrival occurs after it completes six to eight weeks at the ticket window. The audience can expect Haiwaan to arrive on SonyLIV between Oct. 28 and Nov. 6.  However, neither the makers nor the streaming platform has officially confirmed Haiwaan’s OTT release date.

The film follows the saga of a blind lift operator who gets dragged into a murder investigation and has to protect a little girl while trying to clear his own name. In this version, Saif steps into the role of the blind protagonist who appears to be a vulnerable, visually impaired man driving the story. Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar surprises fans and cinephiles by playing the character of a villain. Though it is a real gear shift for both actors, it is generating a lot of buzz online. Now, the audience is anticipating its OTT debut.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Haiwaan has collected a net of Rs 35 lakhs today as of 5.30 PM IST by running across 2,211 shows. This brings total gross collections to Rs 10.04 crore in India.
