Ginny Weds Sunny 2 Starring Avinash Tiwary And Medha Shankr to Hit Theatres in April, FIRST LOOK Unveiled

After years of waiting, Ginny Weds Sunny 2 is all geared up for its second installment. Starring Avinash Tiwary and Medha Shankr in lead roles, the rom-com is slated to release on April 24, 2026. The second part of the much-loved film franchise promises to be a chaotic and heartwarming romantic comedy. Penned and directed by Prasshant Jha and bankrolled by Vinod Bachchan, the fresh chapter marks a significant shift from the original cast and story direction. However, the tone and originality are expected to stay intact. 

On February 12, 2026, the makers of the sequel unveiled the film’s first look while announcing its release date. Ginny Weds Sunny, featuring Vikrant Massey and Yami Gautam, was released in 2020 on Netflix. After a successful run on the OTT platform, Ginny Weds Sunny 2 is all set for its theatrical run.

Ginny Weds Sunny 2 Locks in Release Date, to Hit Screens on April 24

Ginny Weds Sunny 2 refreshes the narrative by introducing a new pairing as well as a distinctive storyline. The first look of the film showcases Medha sporting a saree and sitting on Avinash’s back. He is captured bare-chested, performing a push-up with dumbbells. The caption of the poster read, “Ginny and Sunny are Back! Rishta fixed hai bas iss bar thoda sa Twist hai (The relationship is fixed, just this time there is a little twist)! #GinnyWedssSunny2 arrives in cinemas on 24th April!” Presented by Zee Studios and Soundrya Production, the rom-com is produced by Vinod Bachchan and Umesh Kumar Bansal. 

No sooner was the poster and release date revealed than fans began flooding the comment section with excitement and anticipation. The second part is positioned as a true family entertainment packed with the perfect amount of entertainment, love, laughter, and joy. For Medha, this project marks her first theatrical release since the success of 12th Fail in 2023. Meanwhile, Avinash can be spotted in Shahid Kapoor’s O’Romeo, which releases on February 13, 2026.
