It is no news that the paid previews of Dhurandhar 2 are selling like hot cakes. Apart from the domestic market, the action thriller is rewriting box office records for a Bollywood film in North America. The movie has sold over 2,37,323 tickets in India already for the premiere shows. As per Sacnilk, the total earnings from advance sales of paid previews in India now stand at Rs 15.64 crore. When combined with block booking, this figure goes up to Rs 21.19 crore.
On the other hand, cinema goers have noted that the ticket prices for the preview shows are high, with many multiplexes in metros pricing tickets for regular formats between Rs 600 and Rs 900. IMAX shows are priced over Rs 1000. Whereas the premium luxury screens are charging exorbitant rates for recliners. As of now, the most expensive ticket sold by the INOX Megaplex in Mumbai’s Borivali is priced at Rs 3100 for a recliner. In Delhi, the recliners at PVR Select City Walk cost Rs 2400. Despite the high rates, shows are already sold out or almost houseful. Not to forget, since Yash’s Toxic has been pushed, Dhurandhar: The Revenge will be enjoying a solo release.
