Dev Anand’s son Suneil Anand Passes Away at 70 in the UK, Reason Revealed

On Tuesday, July 28, filmmaker and actor Suneil Anand breathed his last in the UK. The eldest son of Bollywood legend Dev Anand and actor Kalpana Kartik suffered a heart attack in London while travelling to India from the US via the UK. His niece Gina Narang shared the heartbreaking news through a family statement.

Suneil Anand kickstarted his acting career in 1984 with ‘Anand Aur Anand’, which was helmed by Dev Anand. He also appeared in Car Thief (1986), Main Tere Liye (1989) and Master (2001). Here’s a closer glimpse of the actor’s personal and professional life.

Suneil Anand Breathes Last at 70: Know His Personal And Professional Trajectory 

Suneil Anand, son of legendary #Bollywood actor late Dev Anand, passes away at 70. On July 28, Suneil Anand left for heavenly abode, sparking a wave of shock across the film fraternity. Suneil’s niece Gina Narang said in a statement, “With heavy hearts, our family mourns the passing of Suneil Anand. We are comforted by the outpouring of love, prayers, and support, for which we are truly grateful. We kindly request privacy as we navigate this difficult time together.” 

As per reports, Suneil Anand was admitted to a hospital after suffering a heart attack. After an initial assessment, doctors planned to perform a stent procedure, angioplasty. However, before the procedure could commence, he suffered a second heart attack. Despite the medical team’s best efforts, the actor passed away. Coincidentally, he breathed his last at the same hospital where his father, Dev Anand died.

Talking about his acting career, Suneil made his debut in 1984’s Anand Aur Anand, which was directed by the his father. Later, he starred in 1986’s Sameer Malkan’s Car Thief which hit the theatrical screens in 1986, Vijay Anand’s Main Tere Liye of 1989 and his directorial debut Master 2001. Unfortunately, none of his films were a box office success. After hsi father, Dev Anand, passes away in 2011, Suneil took over reigns of his family’s production house, Navketan Films into his hands. 

The family has not yet revealed the details of Sunil Anand’s funeral and final rites. All in all, the sudden passing of Suneil Anand has left the entire film industry grieving.
