Despite Theatrical Ban, Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar Becomes No 1 on Netflix Pakistan, Internet Explodes with Reactions
Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role, started streaming on Netflix last week. Aditya Dhar directed the spy thriller, which made its theatrical debut in December 2025 and quickly became a blockbuster. Along with Ranveer, it also stars Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the film to drop online, and the response has been amazing. While it’s top in India, what’s intriguing is that the movie is also at number 1 in Netflix Pakistan.
Dhurandhar at #1 On Netflix
To the unversed, Dhurandhar was banned in Pakistan along with six Gulf countries (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates) due to its anti-Pakistan themes, as it was considered sensitive with regards to geopolitical events. However, the Netflix release proved that the audience in Pakistan is curious to know what’s exactly in the film.
A user on Reddit shared a screenshot of Ranveer Singh’s film being at #1 on Netflix Pakistan. The post reads, “Dhurandhar Trending No 1 in Netflix Pakistan.” In the comments, netizens have shared their reactions to Dhurandhar being at 1 on Netflix in Pakistan. One person wrote, “I’m surprised they even released it there.” To this a user from Pakistan commented, “Our army is too busy changing election results and putting actual leaders with mandate – like Imran khan in solitary confinement. They don’t care about the movie enough ‘, I guess.”
Another Pakistani posted, “I’m Pakistani and I love Dhurandhar. Yall gotta stop creating this narrative that we hate you guys and vice versa. It’s all love from my side. Don’t be rude.” One more user from Pakistan posted, “I’m also a Pakistani and I absolutely loved it! Bacha hai tu mera.”

Meanwhile, the film has made a humongous collection of Rs 892.67 crores at the box office in India. On Netflix, the film topped the chart within 24 hours upon its OTT release. Director Aditya Dhar even expressed his joy over the same and wrote, “Seeing Dhurandhar hit #1 on Netflix is incredibly gratifying. The film was made to be experienced with passion – on the big screen or at home. I’m grateful to audiences who watched it in theatres and to those discovering it for the first time worldwide.”
