Akshay Kumar’s highly anticipated horror comedy, Bhooth Bangla, has finally hit the cinemas on April 17, with paid previews being screened a day prior. As per estimates, the drama opened well, collecting around Rs. 3.50 crore nett through its paid previews, starting from April 16, 9 pm. Friday, as of 4.30 pm, marking the first day of its release, the Priyadarshan directorial minted Rs 4.29 crore. The comedy-drama saw stronger advance bookings and a promising start amid box-office heat from Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge.

Bhooth Bangla Box Office Numbers

According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla has shown encouraging early box-office trends. By Thursday afternoon, the film had sold over 46,000 tickets, running across over 7,000 shows. It raked in about Rs 1.28 crore gross without block seats. If block reservations are taken into account, the total collection exceeds Rs 3.52 crore. 

On April 17, the film received mixed responses from fans and critics. It has collected Rs 4.29 crore by running across 7,029 shows with a 15 percent occupancy rate. Bankrolled by Balaji Motion Pictures in partnership with Cape of Good Films and backed by Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor, and Ektaa R Kapoor, the film also marks the reunion of the actor Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan after nearly 15 years. 

Alongside Akshay Kumar, the horror comedy features Wamiqa Gabbi, Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal, Mithila Palkar, Tabu, Jissu Sengupta, and others in pivotal roles. With a runtime of 164.52 minutes, Bhooth Bangla is surviving the heat of Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’s heat, which is running strong in its fourth week.
