Headlined by Bellamkonda Srinivas and Rakul Preet Singh, the2017 Telugu romantic-actioner Jaya Janaki Nayaka has now become YouTube’s highest-watched Indian film. Talking about the film’s unexpected milestone after 9 years, the B’town actress took to her social media feed to extend deepest gratitude. Rakul revealed that Janaki will be one of those characters for her that will stay with her forever. Sharing a post, she wrote, “Some characters stay with you forever, and Janaki will always be one of them. Thank you for all the love you’ve shown and for making Jaya Janaki Nayaka the highest-watched Indian film on YouTube ever. This is a special feat. (sic)”.

Backed by Miryala Ravinder Reddy, under the banner of Dwaraka Creations, the Telugu drama also stars Jagapathi Babu, Tarun Arora, Pragya Jaiswal, Sarath Kumar, Nandu, Suman, Jayaprakash, and Vani Viswanath in key roles.

The Telugu action drama, Jaya Janaki Nayaka, which underperformed at the box office upon its release, has crossed an incredible 1 billion views on YouTube in its Hindi-dubbed version, setting a remarkable milestone. Although the film didn’t create significant buzz or receive a positive response from the audience and the critics, its performance did not end there. The movie was later dubbed in Hindi and was titled Khoonkhar. It was then uploaded on YouTube, following which it gained millions of views, especially in North India.

The success of Khoonkhar underlines the popularity of Hindi-dubbed South Indian films among viewers. In addition, films like Yevadu, Lucky the Racer, Indra the Tiger, and Arundhati too have also enjoyed massive viewership on television and YouTube.
