Bandar Box Office Collection Day 1: Bobby Deol’s Crime Thriller Opens Low with Just Rs 50 Lakh, Here’s WHY!
Bobby Deol’s Bandar and Varun Dhawan’s Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai locked horns at the box office on June 5, 2026. While the Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai opened on a good note, Bandar has been struggling at the box office. It opened low with just Rs 50 lakhs. Despite mixed responses to the prison drama, Anurag Kashyap’s directorial is striving hard to scoop at least Rs 1 crore. On the premiere day, the Bobby Deol-starrer ran 1,365 shows by achieving only a 10 percent occupancy rate. Now, all eyes are on the weekend to roll over so that the film can gain some momentum amidst the box office clash.
The film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, generating curiosity among the cinephiles. The ingredients of the film seemed promising. However, the film seems to be suffocating due to the other two films clashing at the ticket window.
Bobby Deol’s Bandar Box Office Collection Day 1
Anurag Kashyap’s crime thriller Bandar opened on a muted note at the box office. According to the latest reports, the gross collection of the film stands at Rs 60 lakh. Morning shows opened at 3.38 per cent, climbing steadily through the day to close at 18.08 per cent in the night shows. Critics and viewers have responded warmly, with many calling Bobby Deol’s performance among the best of his career. Alongside Bobby Deol, the film also stars Sanya Malhotra, Sapna Pabbi, Saba Azad, Indrajith Sukumaran, Jitendra Joshi, Raj B. Shetty, and Nagesh Bhonsle in key roles.
The film reportedly carries a budget of approximately Rs 25 crore. The weekend word-of-mouth is expected to play a crucial role in determining its box-office future. The box office competition appears to be tough since David Dhawan’s final directorial venture Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai opened at Rs 7.50 crore by running across 2,500 screens on the same day. Apart from the film, Ram Charan’s Peddi is also in the race. However, it is busy hitting milestones and breaking box office records day by day.
