Anupam Kher to Star in Musical Play ‘Jaane Pehchaane Anjaane’ Opposite Swaroop Sampat, Anu Malik Joins as Composer

On March 17, 2026, Anupam Kher took to his official social media handles and unveiled the poster of his musical play, Jaane Pehchaane Anjaane. The actor will be sharing the stage with actor Swaroop Sampat. Penned and helmed by filmmaker and theatre personality Gajendra Ahire, the music is composed by Anu Malik. The play also marks the composer’s debut.

Jaane Pehchaane Anjaane is expected to chronicle the relationships of today’s world. More details are yet to be announced by the makers. Till then, fans and audience are intrigued to know what new Anupam Kher has in store for them.

Jaane Pehchaane Anjaane narrates the saga of how people who seem familiar to each other can live like strangers. The story taps into the right emotions, memories, and connections between people through drama and music. 

While talking about his return to the theatrical stage, the actor stated, “Theatre is where my journey as an actor truly began, and every time I return to the stage it feels like coming home.” Jaane Pehchaane Anjaane is a deeply human-interest story that reflects the emotional contradictions of the world. On the other hand, Composer Anu Malik believes that music plays an important role in bringing out emotions in the story. For him, composing for theatre was a unique and exciting experience. He was thrilled to create melodies that would live and breathe on stage with talented performers and singers
