While fans and movie lovers were hooked to Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge, Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla returned to the silver screen with a bang. Garnering the attention of all with his horror-comedy, the film faded away Dhurandhar 2’s box office dominance. Interestingly, Bhooth Bangla has surpassed the Rs 100 crore net mark in India. 

As of day 10, the Priyadarshan directorial minted Rs 12.50 crore net in India, bringing its total box office collection to Rs 134.99 crore gross and Rs 113.41 crore net. Take a closer look at its box office numbers.

Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla hit the cinemas on April 17, 2026, with paid previews screened on April 16. The film is currently running across 433 shows with a good occupancy rate. As of day 11, morning, the horror comedy drama has already raked in Rs 1 Lakh. On its second weekend, the film has earned Rs 150 crore globally, maintaining a steady run. 

The film opened strongly and has maintained its momentum to date, outperforming Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2 and Hollywood’s Michael, a biopic on music icon Michael Jackson. According to industry data-tracking Sacnilk, it earned Rs 10.75 crore nett by running across 9,266 shows on its ninth day. 

Alongside Akshay Kumar, the film boasts a stellar cast including Wamiqa Gabbi, Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal, Jisshu Sengupta, and Tabu in key roles. The film chronicles the tale of a man who inherits a palace in rural Mangalpur, unaware of its mysterious past. When he decides to host his sister’s wedding at the property, a series of supernatural events begins to unfold.
