After announcing his return as Ballu in Khalnayak Returns, Dutt has confirmed his comeback as Raghu in Vaastav 2. During a launch event in Mumbai on April 24, 2026, the star officially announced two major sequels.

Sanjay Dutt’s announcement of Khalnayak Return created a stir among fans and movie enthusiasts, signalling a strong comeback. While the audience was soaking in the exciting news, Dutt confirmed the production of the second installment of the 1999 action thriller, Vaastav: The Reality. Undoubtedly, the two projects inherit Bollywood’s most memorable gangster narratives. 

Helmed by Mahesh Manjrekar, Vaastav starred Namrata Shirodkar, Paresh Rawal, and Reema Lagoo in pivotal roles. As per reports, the director has cracked an idea that is in sync with the world of Vaastav and has discussed the same with Sanjay Dutt, who is all excited and charged up to play Raghu again. Moreover, he is presently working to develop the idea into a screenplay, and Dutt is waiting to hear the entire subject.

In the latest launch event, Dutt shared thoughts about his upcoming projects. He said, “We are working on Vaastav 2. As for Munna Bhai, you’ll have to ask Rajkumar Hirani.
