GATE 2027 Registration Revised Dates Announced: Check Full Schedule, Eligibility Here

The official calendar states that the city allotment announcement will be made by the institute on January 4, 2027. IIT Madras has released a new timetable for GATE 2027 registration. The application form link for GATE 2027 will now be activated on August 27, 2026, according to the revised dates. Applicants can submit their applications without a late fee until September 27. However, October 5, 2026, is the deadline for the extended registration period with a late charge.

According to the official announcement, candidates who are in their third year or higher of any undergraduate degree programme, or who have completed any government-approved degree programme in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, or Humanities, are eligible to take GATE 2027.

The GATE 2027 test will be administered by IIT Madras on the following dates:

Week 1: February 6 and 7, 2027

Week 2: February 13 and 14, 2027

Week 3: February 20–21, 2027

According to official data, eligible applicants may apply to postgraduate and doctorate programs at institutions supported by the Ministry of Education using their GATE score. A number of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) also employ GATE scores for hiring, as stated in the official announcement.
