Viral: Woman Says Rs 1 to 2 Lakh Monthly Salary Can Still Feel Like a Trap, Netizens React

A video is going viral where a woman says that she feels her Rs. 1 or 2 lakh monthly salary feels a trap. The video is gaining attention as many have reacted to her video. One woman claimed that earning in this range may still feel financially difficult for residents of tier-1 cities.

Nidhi Kushwaha discussed what she termed the ‘Rs 1 to Rs 2 lakh salary trap’ in an Instagram video. She stated that people who earn this much in big cities may still experience significant financial strain and have difficulty achieving financial independence.

“I am surprised that there isn’t more discussion on this issue, because even people earning Rs. 1-2 lakh a month in Tier-1 cities are facing significant financial pressure. Earnings are high enough to make one want to move beyond a lower middle class lifestyle, yet not enough to live an affluent life without worry,” she explains.

“Expenses related to rent, taxes, healthcare, cars, schooling and lifestyle are very high in Tier-1 cities. Consequently, a large portion of one’s income is spent, yet there is no sense of financial freedom. This is the trap of a Rs. 1-2 lakh salary,” she added further.

This issue, according to Nidhi, is primarily due to the increasing cost of living a pleasant life in metropolitan areas. She observes that after paying for rent, healthcare, schooling, transportation and taxes, there isn’t much left over for savings at the end of the month.   In the video description, Nidhi offered her opinions. She stated that earning Rs. 1 to 2 lakh a month may seem like a lot of money, but the truth is different when attempting to establish a comfortable life in a Tier-1 city. She feels financially stuck despite having a decent income.
