As part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle, India will tour to Sri Lanka for a two-Test series from August 15 to 27, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said on Thursday.

According to reports, the first Test will take place at the Galle International Cricket Stadium between August 15 and 19 and the second Test will be played at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo between August 23 and 27. The schedule with timings is now available. In the WTC qualification contest, this series may be crucial, as highlighted by reports.

A series triumph would significantly improve either team’s chances of making the WTC final. Sri Lanka is in sixth place with a points percentage (PCT) of 44.44, while India, led by Shubman Gill, is in fifth with a PCT of 48.15. This will be India’s first Test tour to Sri Lanka since 2017. Virat Kohli captained India to a 3-0 victory in the three-match series during that tour.
