Christian Harms quit Microsoft at the age of 26 to pursue a career in content creation in Australia after making Rs 1.9 crore a year there. Now, he’s opened up about the difficulties he encountered after quitting his corporate position, stating that the experience was much harder than he had anticipated.

In a video titled My Museum of Failures, Harms described his experience as a 27 year old who resigned from his dream employment. He admitted that leaving Microsoft could have been the dumbest thing he’d ever done, given the salary, stability and sense of purpose the position provided. He added that corporate life is designed to make departing seem illogical. He said that he knows he is doing the right thing, even if he still struggles with self-doubt on some days.

He pointed out that abandoning a corporate position entails not only the loss of a wage but also the abandonment of the identity and stability that comes with it. According to Harms, he departed Microsoft at the age of 26 from a 200,000 USD position to create videos for businesses online, but things didn’t turn out as expected.
