A shocking incident has taken place in a company where a new joinee has suddenly disappeared. Well, it does not sound new, but he dared to do things that had stunned the internet. A post is going viral on LinkedIn, where the post says how the candidate managed to steal the MacBook and eloped and later, he erased his digital existence like he never existed.

In a LinkedIn post, Raghu Tenneti, a principal recruiter at Uber situated in Hyderabad, described the crazy incident in which the new recruit disappeared from the company as soon as he joined. All attempts to reach the vanished worker failed despite several attempts.

Tenneti stated that after the applicant neglected to report for duty on his joining date, numerous efforts to reach him were unsuccessful. His number was dialed. But the number no longer exists. He removed himself off the telecom grid, as stated in the post.

According to Tenneti, the candidate’s LinkedIn page had disappeared and attempts to follow the laptop delivery address were of no use. The location where the laptop was delivered was located. An empty piece of land at the rear of an abandoned structure. “He supplied us with a dead-drop site for a MacBook,” Tenneti adds. The laptop was remotely pinged by the IT staff. Performed a factory reset. Proxy that is encrypted.

“This man didn’t skip Day 1. He faked his entire identity and vanished without a single digital footprint. That’s not ghosting. That’s a heist. And honestly? Ethan Hunt, genuinely, respects the craft. Bro we want our laptop back,” he wrote in his post.

Tenneti said he was adding ‘confirm candidate physically exists’ to the company’s pre-onboarding checklist after lesson learned. Every hiring procedure has a point of leakage. My own appeared to lead to a different universe. The candidate didn’t slip through the funnel. He carried on after leaving the schedule, he said.
