Apollo Tyres Becomes New Sponsor of the Indian Cricket Team

Apollo Tyres has been announced as the new lead sponsor of the Indian cricket team, after winning a fiercely contested bidding process conducted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Under the three-year contract, Apollo Tyres will pay ₹579 crore to the BCCI. The deal will cover 121 bilateral fixtures and 21 ICC matches, giving the Gurugram-based tyre giant significant global visibility on one of the world’s biggest sporting stages.

Apollo Tyres, which operates in over 100 countries, outbid strong contenders including Canva and JK Cement. While Canva offered ₹544 crore and JK Cement bid ₹477 crore, Apollo clinched the rights with its record-breaking offer.

The agreement works out to an average of ₹4.77 crore per game, though the exact payment per match may vary in the future. The BCCI had set a base price of ₹3.5 crore for bilateral games and ₹1.5 crore for ICC tournament matches, making Apollo’s winning bid a substantial jump over the minimum threshold.
