Amazon India Plans to Invest Rs. 2,800 Crore in Employee Welfare, Operational Expansion
Amazon India to make a whopping investment to expand operations and ensure employee well-being. According to the reports, the amount of investment will be Rs. 2,800 crore.
According to a business statement released by Amazon India on Thursday, the company will invest more than Rs. 2,800 crore to improve the safety, health and financial well-being of its associates while simultaneously growing its operations network across the nation. The investment is a component of the company’s larger strategy to invest over 35 billion USD in India by 2030, with an emphasis on development, AI driven digitalization, export growth and job creation.
The investment will expand upon the Rs. 2,000 crore investment made by the business in 2025, according to the company, which resulted in the opening of 17 new fulfillment centers, six sortation centers and 75 last mile delivery stations across India. By growing micro fulfilment centers and boosting its presence in more cities, the company intends to expand its rapid commerce offering, Amazon Now.
To increase capacity and delivery speeds, notably in tier 2 and tier 3 cities, Amazon stated it will also invest in growing its pan India operations network, which includes fulfillment centers, sorting facilities and delivery hubs.
