The staff body is demanding that the 8th Pay Commission establish a minimum pay of Rs. 69,000, a 6% annual increase, higher HRA and DA linked allowances and consultations in Delhi and Pune, making it the most discussed pay demand right now, according to media accounts.
The National Council Joint Consultative Machinery (NC-JCM) staff side has presented a comprehensive 51 page memorandum with demands such as a minimum basic pay of Rs. 69,000 and a 6% yearly salary raise, as the consultation and debate process for the 8th Central Pay Commission has officially begun.
Under Leave Travel Concession (LTC), the memorandum also recommends 20 days of paternity leave, 60 days of parental care leave over the course of a career, and the ability to cash out 20 days of earned leave.
It aims to extend General Provident Fund (GPF) benefits to subscribers of the National Pension System (NPS) and Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) until the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) is reinstated, ensuring a minimum 30 day bonus based on basic pay and DA and changing HRA slabs to 40%, 35% and 30% in relation to DA, as per the reports.
