“We have offered to help, but I think they’re very capable in these investigations. They don’t need our help, and they’re doing a good job.” Following the G7 summit in Canada, Rubio told media representatives. He met the External Affairs Minister of India, S. Jaishankar.
The United States volunteered to assist India in the investigation of the explosion at the Delhi Red Fort. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has acknowledged a terrorist attack and commended India for its efforts in handling the probe. “The Indians should be commended,” he said. “They’ve been very measured, cautious and very professional about how they’re carrying out this investigation. That investigation continues. It clearly was a terrorist attack. It was a car loaded with highly explosive materials that detonated and killed a lot of people,” he said.
On social media, the external affairs minister expressed his gratitude for his condolences for the loss of life in the Delhi explosion. He stated that they had “discussed our bilateral ties, focusing on trade and supply chains. Exchanged views on the Ukraine conflict, the Middle East/West Asia situation and the Indo-Pacific.” The meeting was positive, according to Jaishankar.
In the previous two weeks, Jaishankar and Rubio met for the second time. In Kuala Lumpur on October 27, they convened a meeting on the sidelines of the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) summit.
Near the Red Fort metro station in Delhi, at least 13 individuals died in an explosion. The Government is looking for quick justice as well as conducting a thorough probe. According to preliminary research conducted by the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams, who gathered more than 40 samples from the explosion site, one of the explosive samples is probably ammonium nitrate.
