The largest moon of 2025 will appear on November 4, at 6.49 p.m. IST, and will be visible until November 5, 2025, early morning. Also called the supermoon, it occurs when the full moon is at or near its closest point to Earth in its elliptical orbit, known as perigee. The Beaver Moon, which is a full moon, will be approximately 221,816 miles (356,980 kilometres) from Earth.
Guess what? A full moon as large as this won’t be seen again until May 2026! So, don’t miss this opportunity to witness the most magical lunar event!
You can view the supermoon in clear skies without any equipment or optical instruments. To get the best view of the moon, watch it at moonrise or as it sets. Due to the moon illusion, it can appear much larger when it is close to the horizon, especially when compared to nearby objects like buildings and trees.
The Beaver supermoon will be visible across India, the US, the UK, and Europe. The celestial event marks the beginning of three consecutive supermoons. It will reach its peak at 8:19 am EST on November 5, 2025. However, it will be visible in the night sky on the evenings of November 4 and 5. In the UK, the moon will be visible at 1:19 p.m. on November 5. In India, the moon will be visible on November 4 at 6.49 p.m. and until November 5, 2025, early morning.
