According to TasteAtlas 2025-26 list of the 100 Best Cuisines in the World for 2025-2026, Indian cuisine secured the 13th position. It is indeed a moment of pride for Indian gastronomy to secure its position alongside top countries like Italy, Greece, Peru, Portugal, and Spain. It is no news that Indian food and dishes are nothing short of a symphony of flavors, derived from species and tastemakers grown nationwide. Roll your eyes over to know more!

TasteAtlas World Food Awards 2025: 100 Best Cuisines in the World

India’s cuisine and citizens’ love for food are unmatched. Without any viral outbreak, India has secured the 13th position out of 100 countries. Additionally, the highest-rated foods in the bread category were Butter Garlic Naan, Amritsari Kulcha, Parotta, Muthia, and Garam Masala. Alongside, Murgh Makhani was ranked 66th, Hyderabadi Biryani on the 72nd, and Shahi Paneer on the 85th. Talking about dessert, Kulfi ranked 49th while Phirni ranked 60th. The four Indian food regions that made it to the global list were Southern India (40th), West Bengal (73rd), Maharashtra (76th), and Kerala (97th). On the other hand, Mumbai ranked 5th among the world’s best food cities, thanks to Bhel puri, pav bhaji, vada pav, ragda pattice, and modak. It deserves the ranks because Mumbai is not popular only for its fine dining or Michelin ambition, but because of its culture of feeding people of all walks of life.
