President Donald Trump Praises Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Calls Him ‘Monster’, Internet Reacts

After a meeting at the White House with top AI executives on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump referred to Google CEO Sundar Pichai as a monster. To discuss a new voluntary agreement on AI safety and oversight, the statement was made after a meeting with prominent tech leaders such as Pichai, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, along with other prominent tech leaders, including Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman, Elon Musk, Palantir CEO Alex Karp and others.

Trump used the term ‘monster’ as a compliment on Pichai’s sway and accomplishment in the technology sector as he presented him to reporters outside the West Wing. “This guy is a monster and nobody knows him. What a great life! To be a monster and not have to go through this. All you have to know is – SUNDARR! Sundar is his name,” he stated. Pichai replied, “Hopefully a better tagline than I am a monster!”

Through internal and external evaluations, the executives were convened to discuss a voluntary framework designed to enhance supervision of sophisticated AI systems. Pichai stated while explaining agreement that firms were embracing established corporate governance processes for AI development.

“We are signing up to a set of processes and controls as we do in other areas, like financial controls, in a company. And we are bringing those well-known best practices to the development of superintelligence,” Pichai stated to reporters.
