Passenger Captures Stunning Video of Artemis II Launch from Plane, NASA Reacted
Artemis II was launched by NASA, its most awaited moon mission which was delayed and finally started its trajectory to the moon. A passenger from the airplane captured the stunning footage from the sky.
The Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and Orion spacecraft carried out a successful launch of NASA’s Artemis II mission from Florida’s Kennedy Space Center on Wednesday (April 1st). A passenger on a United Airlines flight captured the ‘once in a lifetime’ video of the NASA rocket breaking through Earth’s sky, while millions of people watched the launch live from the ground on their smartphones.
From her window seat, an Instagram user by the name of Kim filmed the video, dubbing it the coolest angle from which to see the historic launch as humanity goes back to the Moon after a hiatus of more than half a century.
“On our way home, we had an amazing flying experience that we will never forget. Thank you, @united, for allowing us to make a small detour so we could watch the Artemis II launch from the best possible viewpoint!” Kim wrote in the caption.
The video had more than 40 million views as of the most recent update and even NASA was caught up in the enthusiasm of other space fans who were blown away by the film. “We call that a first-class view!” the official NASA handle stated.
