Paris Museum Honors Princess Diana Wax Figure in the Most Iconic ‘Revenge Dress’
Words fall short when it comes to Princess Diana and her enduring legacy. Renowned for her exceptional fashion statements, striking public appearances, and, of course, humanitarian work and activism, she still resides in the hearts of millions. Decades after her tragic death, on November 20, 2025, a life-size wax figure of Princess Diana was unveiled at the Grevin Museum in Paris, France. The sculpture depicted her in a black silk dress, popularly regarded as the “revenge dress”.
Lady Diana looked incredibly gorgeous and turned heads around in the off-the-shoulder, form-fitting gown by Christina Stambolian when she was spotted at the Serpentine Gallery event in London in 1994. She donned the stunning look on the night her estranged husband, the then-Prince Charles, publicly confessed to his affair with Camilla Parker Bowles in a television interview.
We can’t resist swooning over the life-size sculpture after a long wait of over 25 years. Roll your eyes over and take a closer look!

The Grevin Museum is one of Europe’s oldest and most renowned museums. On Thursday, decades after she died in the city, the museum presented her sculpture that’s too good to be true. It showcases Princess Diana in the distinctive black cocktail dress, also called the “revenge dress”. Her dress was nothing short of a powerful statement of unwavering confidence, as she chose to attend a public event rather than staying away from the public eye. The dress appeared to be bolder than her previous styles, while the lady flaunted her newfound confidence and independence gracefully.
Additionally, her high heels, a pearl choker, and a small clutch clasped in both hands completed her look effortlessly. The fashion icon may have passed away tragically in a tunnel car crash by the Seine River in 1997, but her legacy and boldness are alive in the hearts of millions to date. Moreover, the city draws admirers worldwide, leaving flower bouquets, letters, and notes at informal memorials.
Museum officials shared with The Associated Press that the director of the Grevin Museum ordered the likeness after being underwhelmed by its counterpart during a visit to Madame Tussauds wax museum in London a couple of years ago. They noted that the unveiling took place on the 30th anniversary of an explosive interview that Princess Diana gave to BBC “Panorama,” which observers say hampered the standing of the monarchy and the Queen.
