The 98th Oscars are just two months away! The prestigious award ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be televised live on ABC. The Academy recognizes and celebrates the global film industry and the artists worldwide. Currently, what is buzzing in India is the list of seven Indian films that made it to the Oscars 2026 nomination list. Earlier, Ishan Khatter starrer Homebound, Dillip Prabhavalkar starrer Dashavatar, and director Ashwin Kumar’s Mahavatar Narsimha entered the race across several categories, and now, a few more names are adding to it. Oscars 2026: Ten Indian Films That Made It to the 98th Academy Awards

It is indeed a proud moment for India’s cinema industry to reach such a milestone. The Academy has announced this year’s General Entry List featuring 201 films competing for a Best Picture nomination. After Homebound, Mahavatar Narsimha, and Dashavatar, Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 and Anupam Kher’s Tanvi The Great seized their place among 201 feature films eligible for the 98th Academy Awards. 

A total of 10 Indian films, namely Homebound, Dashavatar, Sister Midnight, Paro, Papa Buka, Mahamantra, Kantara: Chapter 1, Tanvi The Great, Mahavatar Narsimha, and Tourist Family, have been shortlisted for the Oscars 2026 categories. Take a closer look at the list of Indian submissions!

The Academy authorities will cast their vote from January 12 to January 16, and the final list of nominations will be announced on Thursday, January 22, 2026. According to the Press Trust of India, the 98th Oscars, scheduled for March 15, 2026, will feature 24 award categories, with 10 nominees for Best Picture and five in all other categories. Fans and movie buffs worldwide are intrigued to know who takes the titles home!
